Ready to improve your overlocker skills? Join us for this one-day beginner/refresher course ‘Learn to Love Your Overlocker’ with fabulous Kate Marra from Sew Into Overlocking
This one-day course will teach you how to master your overlocker for confident sewing at home. The kit provided covers a comprehensive workbook and all the fabrics required for the day.
What this course will cover:

four thread and three thread overlocking
-
understanding tensions and differential feed
-
rolled hems
-
techniques for better results when stitching a circle, inside corners, outside corners
-
working with difficult fabrics
…and so many applications for rolled hem!
What skills are needed:
You don’t need any sewing skills to participate in this workshop!
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or someone who has some experience but wants to
learn how to use your overlocker, you’ll gain valuable skills that will help you sew with
confidence at home and make the most of your machine.
What to bring to this class:

Your own overlocker - in good working order (having your machine serviced before class is advisable to avoid disappointment, if it’s not working properly, you will not get the most out of the class)

Foot control

Accessories i.e. screw drivers, tweezers etc

Rolled hem plate (if required to achieve a rolled hem on your machine- mostly older models, newer machines have a built-in adjustment a slide adjustment on the needle plate which is built in)

Spare needles – the correct system for your machine.

Instruction manual

4 spools x good quality overlocking thread (4 different colours works well to help understand the stitch formation – if your overlocker has coloured threading paths try to match those colours i.e. orange, blue, red, green)

We recommend you bring your lunch as we only have half hour lunch break. There are cafes nearby if you prefer to go out.
